Hey! Your friend Anonymous here to answer a few questions for those curious to know more about this website and the people behind it.

Now, by 'Dark Reign' we are ofcourse referring to the hit 1997 RTS PC game. More information can be found on the wikipedia page.

To answer most questions I would direct you to the community discord. There, you can read for yourself every detail of the project.

But for the sake of transparency I will say this much..

This website and the updated versions of the game(s) we distribute are part of a non-profit grass-roots community software preservation effort.

The website exists as a portal to download the game(s) and (re)connect with players from across the globe. We don't take donations and all programming contributions are voluntary. All the code is on github for you to peruse at your leisure.

The project is essentially complete. Dark Reign is playable on all modern Windows systems. Sorry linux bros, no plans for support. All content has been restored and multiplayer works natively.

We believe we exist in the realm of like-minded community efforts surrounding similarly aged PC games. Eg. Dungeon Keeper, Netstorm, Populous, KKND, C&C Online, Warcraft 2 and many more. All of which have their own corresponding communities and updated game clients to maintain multiplayer services and modern operating system compatibility.

Still don't trust me? That's okay! Downloading free games on the internet from random websites has never been well advised, however it never stopped me and I haven't regretted it yet.
